6th Street Dance Studio, a non-profit dance studio and affiliated contemporary dance company Whole Project with a unique study curriculum that consists new developments in contemporary classical technique classes, Lightbody yoga, the newest forms of hip hop and urban dance classes, and composition classes for the development of new work. Brigid Baker began her ballet training as a scholarship student with Melissa Hayden in Saratoga, NY. She then studied ballet extensively with Maggie Black, David Howard, Lawrence Rhodes, and Finis Jhung. She has taught and presented choreography in a variety of national and international festivals as Europe and Latin America. She has an ongoing relationship with Ballet Biarritz in France, for whom she has choreographed and for whom she teaches – most recently in February 2008. She was presented by Ballet Biarritz Saison Temps D’Aimer Festival. She taught and hosted five dancers from Ballet Biarritz in July 2008 at the studio. Brigid was awarded the 2005 choreographic fellowship for excellence in Miami. She completed two new evening works, Transfigured and Noctilucent Blue Cloud in 2008, a companion piece Phylia After, and a commissioned work, The Girl which was presented at Art Basel Miami December 2007, and she is developing a full length ballet in two acts, The Tree, with commissioned orchestral score.
