Yoshvani Medina is an internationally renowned playwright and director that has also excelled as a professor of dramatic arts in France, Martinique and his native Cuba. He is the recipient of numerous awards for his literary work; has written seven plays in Spanish and French; has directed multi-media productions and plays by such notable authors as Shakespeare, Luigi Pirandello, Harold Pinter, Voltaire, Musset, Marivaux and contemporary authors as Eve Ensler, Ulises Cala, Virgilio Piñera, Aimée Cesaire, Alan Ball, Aldo de Benedetti, in France, Martinique, Cuba and USA. As a playwright and director, he has been invited on numerous occasions to participate in international theatre festivals such as the Theatre Festival of Avignon, France, one of the most prestigious in the world. His published works have been translated to several languages. He is the founder and the artistic director of Miami Art Workshop, a unique, cultural center within the artistically-thriving Latin Quarter of Little Havana.
